• STUFF – 8 more rehearsals before our dress on Saturday Dec 6.
    – I sent a link to the separate main page for the singers who will be carolling on Dec 14. Please keep that link handy as it’s the only way to access the page and download the alpha list, rehearsal schedule and the sheet music to print as well as the musescore files to rehearse. Please put the extra rehearsal dates in your calendars.
  • REHEARSAL NOTES
♫ A3) Stairwell Carol – I wrote this carol to celebrate our 30th back in 2007. I wanted the composition to be bilingual, first in English, then French and at 53 both English and French presented together.
    – It was tough back then to get a good balance of voices for a full Choir II and this year, I spent about an hour plus, trying to get that balance between both choirs. Tough to do when all the ladies sing in 4 parts. It doesn’t leave me with many sops and altos to be in Choir II.
    – I’ve decided to make Choir II a baritone soli line instead. Guys, you’ll need to sing your parts according to the 3 way split voicing. Baritones will sing the entire choir two line. Those of us assigned to sing bass and tenor parts will be silent for the first 8 bars and will enter at 61.
    – I have updated all the files to show this change. Again, I don’t think you need to reprint the music, but you may want to look at the update and hand write the changes directly into your sheet music.
    – This Wednesday, October 8th .
♫ B4) Tomorrow Shall be My Dancing Day – Bar 28 splits into Baritone. Bass 1 sings that bar and then those who are assigned baritone when the part is there would start singing at bar 30’s pickup into bar 31. It’s the melody and goes right up to bar 43. Everything goes back to regular voicing the bar after.
♫ F4) – Carol of the Winter Squall
    – Terry just sent me some changes that will only affect the basses. It’s nothing major and likely you can hand write those changes in. I’ll have that ready tomorrow.
    – We will be working on it again, so please take time to run through it in depth. If we have more time I’ll come back to some of the former pieces to review before we do C3) but I doubt that will happen.
♫ C3) – How Far is it to Bethlehem – Men will be leaving around 8 and ladies remain to work this piece.
    – Next Wednesday, October 15th
     – We have now sung through every song of our repertoire once and we begin our second run-through. The schedule is setup so that by the time we get to our first full run-through of all the songs, we’ve sung each 3 times. It’s not much repetition for sure which is why our extra rehearsal on the Saturday morning Dec 6 is so crucial to getting all the songs performance worthy for our paying audiences.
    – It’s major review time for all of us.
